At 74 years young, Rod is proving that age is no barrier to staying active and achieving personal goals. A dedicated member of Cardinia Life, Rod trains regularly in the pool and is a familiar face in our RPM classes. His commitment and love for swimming recently led him to compete at the State Championships at MSAC (Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre) in the 75-79 age group, where he impressively placed in seven races!
Event Placings:
- Placed 2nd: 200m Backstroke, 200m Breaststroke, 100m Backstroke, 100m Breaststroke, Men’s Relay (combined aged group)
- Paced 3rd: 200m Freestyle
- Placed 5th: 100m Freestyle
Rod trains with the Casey Seals Masters Swimming Club, consistently working to improve his technique and endurance. His passion for swimming has driven him to take on the next big challenge – the ‘National Championships‘ in April. With steady determination and the support of the Cardinia Life community, he’s looking forward to testing himself on the national stage.
