Cardinia Life served as the perfect backdrop for headspace day on Saturday 12 October, an event dedicated to promoting the importance of staying active and supporting youth mental health. This collaborative effort between Cardinia Leisure, headspace Pakenham/Narre Warren and Cardinia Men’s Shed Pakenham featured a range of engaging activities designed to raise awareness and inspire action. 

headspace is a national youth mental health foundation that supports young people aged 12 to 25. Their services include counselling, group programs, and educational resources aimed at helping youth navigate mental health challenges and improve their overall well-being. 

During the day, participants engaged in informative sessions hosted by headspace, joined group fitness classes, entered a raffle, enjoyed a fun photo booth, and savored a delicious barbecue prepared by the Cardinia Men’s Shed team!  

In addition to fostering community spirit and promoting physical activity, the event successfully raised over $1,000 to support headspace’s essential work in our community. These funds will directly contribute to the vital services and programs aimed at improving youth mental health. 

Overall, headspace day not only showcased the important services offered by headspace but also emphasised the vital role that local leisure centers play in promoting community well-being.
