Basketball

Basketball is one of Cardinia Life’s most popular activities and is home to the Pakenham District Basketball Association, who offer a variety of basketball programs and competitions for both children and adults.

For those who are looking to compete, PDBA run a domestic competition seasonally for Juniors and Seniors, and have teams in the VJBL and Big V games leagues.

Aussie Hoops

Delivered by Pakenham District Basketball Association, Aussie Hoops is all about learning the fundamentals of basketball in a fun and safe environment. The Aussie Hoops program is a national coaching curriculum and a sequentially developed program that consists of warm-up games, skill activities and modified games all delivered by accredited coaches.

Pakenham District Basketball Association was awarded Victorian Centre of the Year 2024 for their Aussie Hoops program and Coach Chelsea was named Victorian Aussie Hoops Coach of the Year!

Domestic Basketball Competition

Pakenham District Basketball Association host Junior and Senior domestic basketball competitions that run seasonally at Cardinia Life, with men’s, women’s and mixed competitions available.

Cardinia Leisure facilities are home to Pakenham District Basketball Association. Partnering with Cardinia Leisure to deliver domestic competitions, and providing representative opportunities for both junior and senior basketballers, with a focus on local development of the sport. Programs provided by the association include:

Junior representative basketball (VJBL)
Senior representative basketball (Big V, CBL)

3×3 competitions

Casual shooting

Courts at Cardinia Life are available for casual users, dependant on bookings. As a rough guide for availability please see below.

Court space is available most weekdays up to 3pm
Court space is very limited on weekends and patrons are encouraged to call ahead to check availability
Court space is available during school holidays, but patrons are encouraged to call ahead to check availability
Casual court use does not give you exclusive use of the court, please and be prepared to share the court with other users
Anyone looking for exclusive use of a court must hire a court & can do so by contacting the centre on 5945 2888
Anyone wishing to use equipment that will prevent others from using the court, will be required to hire a court

Competitions & court bookings take priority, if all courts are booked, no casual use will be available
