The VicHealth H30 Challenge is a campaign encouraging Victorians to make a simple 30-day pledge to replace every sugary drink they would normally drink with water.
Together with Cardinia Shire Council and Vichealth, we are running the H30 Challenge during the month of March through our Group Fitness Program. Group Fitness instructors will have an iPad in class on which participants can register.
What is the challenge all about?
The aim of the challenge is to help establish healthier habits, with water becoming the main choice of beverage in the long-term. Sugary drinks include sugar-sweetened soft drinks, energy drinks, fruit drinks, sports drinks, ready-to-drink iced tea, flavoured water and cordial.
Sugar sweetened beverages are the largest source of sugars in the Australian diet and high intake of these sugary drinks are associated with poorer health outcomes, such as increased risk of weight gain and increased risk of tooth decay.
Win great prizes!
Once signed up participants will go into a weekly draw to win a prize. Prizes include, memberships, AFL tickets, swimming lessons and vouchers.
The first 175 signups will also receive a free drink bottle!
A major prize will be awarded at the end of the month where every person signed up for the challenge will go into a draw to win a Fitbit.
