The Australian Government on Sunday 22 March 2020 announced the closure of all non-essential services in a bid to halt the further spread of Covid-19 (Coronavirus), including public aquatic facilities and health clubs. From 12.00pm noon on Monday 23 March, Cardinia Leisure Facilities closed to the public until further notice. However, Cardinia Life attempted keep the childcare open to the public as an essential service to allow people to use the childcare to undertake shopping and other tasks while their children are safe with us.
Due to the current environment surrounding COVID 19 with people selcting to keep their children at home rather then in care the Cardinia Shire Council and Aligned Leisure has decided to temporarily close the Childcare here at Cardinia Life as of the final session on Friday 27 March 2020.
It is unclear at this stage how long the closure will be in effect for, with any decision on reopening to be based on advice from the Australian Government. Throughout the closure, we will be working to support our staff as best as we can and hope to be in a position for them to return to work soon.
